Sunshine is the main ski area with many of its slopes above tree line - 25 minutes by bus, Norquay is 15 minutes ride away, it is much smaller with wooded slopes, while Lake Louise is a 45 minutes drive & has long trails & spectacular high mountain scenery, perfection for your ski holiday in Canada.
Regular ski bus services, included with the tri area lift pass for the Rocky Mountains, operate from Banff ski resort to each of the ski areas and all abilities of skiers and riders will be impressed with the three unique ski sectors.

Bustling and friendly, the ski resort of Banff in Canada is set in the spectacularly beautiful Banff National Park. In this picturesque & lively town you’re quite likely to see an Elk out window shopping as it wanders down the main high street and will marvel at the stunning scenery and abundant wildlife of the park.
In Banff ski resort, all accommodation is linked to the resort by the regular bus system. With lots to do in the area, much based around the wildlife to be seen in Banff National Park, non skiers will be just as entertained here as those taking to the slopes.

Beginners skiing in Banff:
There are excellent nursery areas in all three superb ski areas in the Rocky Mountains, and the ski schools are excellent. All of the ski areas of Banff ski resort are a bus ride from the accommodation.
Intermediates skiing in Banff:
The runs down through the trees at Sunshine, as well as the wide flattering open bowls at the top of the mountain are an intermediate’s delight. Sunshine is also renowned for its record annual snow fall and boasts some of the best powder skiing in the Rockies. Lake Louise offers excellent opportunities for intermediates, with long slopes which undulate as well as excellent bowl and tree skiing.
Advanced skiing in Banff:
There are good opportunities for powder skiing in Banff ski resort and exhilarating tree runs as well as excellent mogul runs in all three areas. Mount Norquay offers some of the steepest pisted runs, while at Lake Louise you can challenge yourself in the back bowls and steep chutes. Sunshine Village has a new extreme skiing and snowboarding zone, offering off-piste riding as steep as 50 degrees, known as “Delirium Dive”.
Snowboarding in Banff:
The Sunshine Village area is ideal for riders of all ability levels. Wide open runs and a good lift system make it ideal for mastering the basics. The off-piste in Banff ski resort is varied and easily accessed. Mount Norquay has great steeps and the back bowls of Lake Louise offer fantastic powder. All three areas have great free ride terrain parks.
